Russell Colley took over Tidal Wave in 2019, when previous club owner and founder David Tidwell retired. Russell has been with the club since 2012, coaching primarily on the girls side.
Russell’s playing career includes a standout high school career at Norton High in Norton, Massachusetts. Where he lead the team in goals in both his junior and senior years. Russell’s accolades in HS includes multiple tri-valley league and Sun Chronicle All Star teams. Russell played his club soccer with Explosion FC out of Attleboro during his HS years, playing on some of the strongest boys teams in New England.
After high school, Russell went on to play for Curry College in Milton MA. His freshman year he helped the team to their first conference playoff appearance in over 8 seasons. Russell’s collegiate career was cut short due to his second career concussion.
Russell began his coaching career shortly after that connecting with his former club Explosion FC. He began coaching in their academies and clinics, in 2010.
In 2012 Russell decided to join the Tidal Wave coaching staff and began with a u12 girls team. Becoming heavily involved right away in the everyday operations, working with camps and clinics. Russell currently coaches the 03 and 01 girls teams at Seacoast United Tidal Wave.
In 2018 David and Russell began the initial discussions about entering a working partnership with Seacoast United. After multiple discussions and meetings the two sides came to an agreement to began partnership in 2019, to become known as Seacoast United Tidal Wave.
2019 continued to be a busy year for Russell, as he got hired to be the assistant women’s soccer coach at Dean College in Franklin, MA.
Russell has a Bachelors degree in Sports Management.
Russell also works full time in sales for Quality Beverage in Taunton, MA. And lives with his wife Brittany and two children Jaxson and Emersyn in Attleboro MA.
